Why did the people of Frayser riot? To understand why you have to understand that Frayser is hill country of Memphis. People of Frayser whether they are black or white, have been hillbillies all their lives and a hill culture exist which causes people to be clannish at times. Like the baldnobbers of Branson Missouri, which caused criminal clans to gather when a fire is lite on the bald mountains thus viewed for miles attracting the gang; the Frayser clans gather every time a BBQ is lit in the hills of Frayser. These are people who watch shows on TV about Jessie James and Josey Wales but over the issue of civil rights. These peoples make heros over their black sheeps of the family who go out and do whatever it takes to bring home the bacon.

People have to survive and will do anything to feed their families and that is how a man is judged in the hill country of Frayser.
